Performance, Engine, and Comfort

(5/5)
There’s very little room for complaints when it comes to Mustang’s battery pack—you can rest assured of a high driving range and ample power. In terms of comfort, the automaker has been extra generous, designing the interior in a way that rivals all other luxury vehicles in the same price range.

Battery & Performance

(4.5/5)

The vehicle delivers reliable performance on various road conditions and has excellent acceleration, but the ride quality may feel stiff at times.

Engine

The bsse trim is powered by a 88 kWh battery pack generating an output of 346 hp and 428 pound-feet of torque.

Transmission

The vehicle runs on 1-speee direct drive transmission.

Suspension

It’s equipped with front struts and rear multilink suspension. Four-wheel independent suspension along with front and rear stabilizer bar are available as standard.

Steering

The electric-powered tilt and telescopic steering wheel makes handling convenient.

Safety & Reliability

(4.5/5)
The list of safety and driver-assist features makes it evident that the automakers have prioritized safety in this lineup.

Brakes

It’s equipped with 14.3-inch ventilated disc for front brakes and 12.4-inch disc for rear brakes.

Airbags

The vehicle is equipped with dual front and dual rear side-mount airbags along with front and rear headbags.

Electronics

Lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, pre and post-collision safety system, driver attention alert, child seat anchors, stability control, adaptive cruise control, and front, side, and rear view camera are available as part of the standard safety suite.

Lights

The standard package includes daytime running lights, LED headlamp, and dusk sensing headlamps so that visibility is not an issue while driving during dark hours.

Traction control

Traction control is a part of this SUV’s standard safety suite—it prevents the wheels from slipping or losing traction when you’re driving through muddy or wet roads.

Fuel Economy

(5/5)
The entry-level model happens to be the most efficient one, so if fuel efficiency is a priority for you, you don’t need to look further.

Gas per mileage consumption

The base model offers 90 MPGe city, 96 MPGe highway, and 84 MPGe combined. It has a driving range of 270 miles. The GT Performance Edition offers 65 MPGe, with 220 miles of EV range.

Interior

(4.5/5)
The interior of the Ford Mustang MACH-e is not what you’re accustomed to seeing in Mustangs. It comes with a conveniently located infotainment unit which is easy to navigate, ambient lighting, and panoramic sunroof, ensuring you feel the true pleasures of luxury.

Seats

The front seats have 41.7 inches of legroom, leatherette upholstery, driver’s seat and passenger seat with lumbar support, and multi-level heating. The rear seats are equally comfortable with 38.1 inches of legroom and a center armrest.

Design

The design focuses on practicality while also being stylish and sleek. While the exterior gives off a typical Mustang vibe, the cabin is a lot more somber and cozy, allowing you to experience the best of both worlds.

Infotainment

The Sync infotainment unit is well-equipped with features like a 15.5-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, WiFi, Bang & Olufsen speakers, and speed sensitive volume control.

Overall height and space

The SUV is 185.6 inches in length, 74.2 inches in width, and it is 63.9 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 117.5 inches.

Trunk space

The basic cargo capacity of the area behind the rear seats is 34.4 cubic feet. You can extend it up to 64.4 cubic feet by folding the rear seats.

Price and Extras

(4/5)
The entry level and middle tiers justify their price tag, as they unlock a wide range of comfort and safety features. The higher trims focus more on performance and luxury, but the jump in price makes them less appealing to buyers.

Market Price

The SUV comes in 5 trim levels—Select, Premium, California Route 1, GT, and GT Performance Edition. If you’re looking for a vehicle that offers the most value for money, the Premium trim is the one to get. It offers a 290-mile driving range (AWD), a panoramic sunroof, and bigger wheels, making the driving experience a memorable one. The higher trims are great of course, but they are tad too expensive for our liking, considering the features they have to offer.

Trim Level Base Price
Select $44,795
Premium $48,795
California Route 1 $58,795
GT $61,795
GT Performance Edition $66,795

AWD/FWD

The lineup has both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive setup. The configuration you get will depend on the trim variant you choose.

Warranty

The Mustang MACH-e is covered by a basic warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles, drivetrain warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles, EV battery warranty of 8 years or 100,000 miles, rust warranty of 5 years or unlimited miles, and roadside assistance coverage for 5 years or 60,000 miles.

Extras

The vehicle can tow as much as 3306 pounds, when it is properly equipped.

Verdict

While this lineup is surely not a usual Mustang, it carries the same gene, which gets reflected through its agility. If you’re in the market for an electric crossover that’s easy to handle and drives well, you can definitely consider this one. If top-level performance is your lookout, you can go for the middle or high trims, but otherwise, the base trim would be sufficient to take you on city cruising. But if you’re looking for a less expensive alternative that delivers similar performance, you may check out the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
