The overall performance of this vehicle is impressive, thanks to its high towing capacity, off-road ability, and clean interior. But it does feel like a truck at times because of its massive dimensions and the lack of advanced comfort features in the cabin.

You can choose an engine option based on your personal requirement, after assessing whether you want high power, or you want efficiency. In terms of performance, the Chevy Suburban is a reliable SUV. If you’re interested in hardcore off-roading, you’d love the Z71 trim, which is available with a standard 4WD configuration.

Engine

There are multiple engine options. The base one is a 5.3-liter V8 generating 355 hp. There’s also a 6.2-liter V8 engine with an output of 420 hp. Another option is a 3-liter V6 diesel engine, which generates 277 hp.

Transmission

The engines are paired with 10-speed automatic transmission.

Suspension

It has control arms for front suspension and trailing arms for rear suspension. The vehicle offers smooth rides even in rough roads, thanks to its advanced independent rear suspension.

For the interior, Chevy has prioritized practicality and utility over style. The cabin looks simple, has ample space across three rows, and the cargo area is quite roomy. The automaker uses high-quality materials for trimmings and upholstery, and these elements give the cabin a premium feel. However, it’s not as comfortable as its competitors.

It has a total seating capacity of 8, spread across three rows. The front seat has 44.5 inches of legroom with 8-way power adjustable and height adjustable driver’s seat and passenger seat. You also get lumbar support for additional comfort. The rear seats have a 42-inch legroom, ensuring the passengers sit comfortably during long rides. The third row is available as a standard addition.

Chevrolet doesn’t focus as much on design and aesthetics as much as it does on practicality. The roomy interior is convenient for long rides, thanks to features like wireless charging and heated seats. The cabin is tasteful, clutter-free, and seamless to navigate.

Suburban not only makes sure that the passengers are comfortable, but also takes care of their in-car entertainment. You get either an 8-inch display or a 10.2-inch display, depending on the trim level you choose. If you want you can also opt for a rear seat entertainment unit. Notable features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 6 speakers, and USB connection.

The vehicle is 225.7 inches in length and 81.1 inches in width. Its height is 75.7 inches, and the wheelbase is 134.1 inches.

Trunk space

When all the seats are upright, the base cargo space is 41.5 cubic feet, which is quite spacious. If you need more room, folding down the seats will give you a maximum of 144.7 cubic feet.

The entry-level and mid-range models are value-for-money. If you want more power or you’re purchasing a vehicle solely for off-roading, it makes sense to go for the higher trims, but they will cost you a lot more.

You have 6 trim levels to choose from—LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. Chevy offers a lot of value no matter which trim level you choose, but if we still have to pick one, it would be either RST or Z71. Both of these are powered by powerful engines, have a rugged appearance, and you also get comfy leather-clad seats. As for RST trim, you can go ahead with the diesel engine, because the rest of the engines are extremely fuel thirsty.
